Finance Coordinator

The Centrist Project seeks a full-time “Finance Coordinator” to help launch an innovative political effort that aims to bridge the growing partisan divide in politics. The Finance Coor will bolster the organization’s reach and resources by building and organizing a network of donors and key stakeholders in Colorado.

The ideal candidate is someone comfortable operating in an open-ended startup environment and comfortable completing detailed execution across various functions, and committed to working at maximum capacity to help us achieve our ambitious goals. The Finance Coordinator must be incredibly detail oriented and organized, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.  This position requires a deep commitment to hard work, travel and long and irregular hours.

The Finance Manager will be based in Denver, Colorado and reports directly to the National Finance Director and Colorado. This is a full time role with 10% in state travel required so access to reliable transportation is required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.


The position has a wide range of responsibilities, including serving as a strategic asset to the organization Finance Department, Specific responsibilities include the following

  • Assisting with donor maintenance and outreach including follow up from call time, thank you letters, pledge follow up and more

  • Research current donors, social media followers for lead generation.

  • Support with all fundraising events including event set up, venue selection, invitations, follow ups and logistics.

  • Assist with scheduling and calendar work for senior staff and board

  • Lead manager of fundraising database.

  • Research 100 prospects a week for cold outreach with support of intern staff

  • Manage cold outreach program including sending out books and other information about Centrist Project.

  • Staff asks when appropriate.

  • Manage and grow the NextGen council with an income goal of $30,000 in 2018.

  • Arrange travel for senior leadership.

  • Support and draft fundraising emails and letters for organizational fundraising.

  • Develop processes for department and organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous finance/fundraising experience a plus

  • Applicants must be highly organized and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced campaign environment

  • Knowledge of CRM Software preferred

  • A true self-starting team player

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage a lot of projects simultaneously and cheerfully

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google documents required
