TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF

I am a young man from California who works in the food industry. I am single and I guess I am *still* trying to find my place in the world.

WHAT DOES BEING A "CENTRIST" MEAN TO YOU, AND WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED?

I realized that sometimes there is no rationality in extremes and sometimes the most rational and ethical people are the moderates, independents, and centrists. Being a centrist seems to be an independent and moderate voice in politics which is what we need more and more. That is why I am choosing to get involved.

WHAT IS A POLICY ISSUE YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT AND WHY?

A tax policy that treats everyone fairly and doesn't benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyone else. I want a tax policy that also strongly benefits the economy, creates great paying jobs, and will be true tide that lifts all boats. I know of people who are working two or more jobs and struggle to make ends meet while corporate CEOS get huge pay increases and it's not fair.

HOW DO YOU THINK WE CAN UNITE OUR COUNTRY AND FIX POLITICS?

By recognizing that we are *all* Americans and by showing loving respect towards each other, we can work together and create the kind of political climate that truly works for us all. One of my gripes about political talk radio is that it polarizes people and dehumanizes the opposition. The opposition isn't merely wrong; they're stupid at best and wicked at worse. This kind of hateful message is tearing America apart. When "pro-life" people call the opposition "baby-killers" that is hateful and dehumanizing. When "prochoice" people call the opposition "misogynists" (just because they have a religious belief that condemns abortion as wrong) that is hateful and dehumanizing.
