Tell us about yourself: who you are, where you're from, etc.

My name is Shala McMoore and I currently live in Jacksonville, Florida. I am a sales representative for a local healthcare company and have over 20 years of clinical laboratory experience. I have three grown daughters and 5 grandchildren. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree from Asbury Theological Seminary...and enjoy reading--a lot!

What does being a "Centrist" mean to you, and why did you get involved?

Being a Centrist means opportunity for growth through bipartisan engagement facilitated by neutrality...a non-party voice. I became involved with the Centrist Project because I realized that I can no longer find full scale commonality with either party - the Dems nor the GOP. I found myself looking for a place to call home...one which brings to bear the best of both worlds. And while the Centrist Project is not another political party...the mission and vision of this group is wholeheartedly working towards what I would envision a third party political option to be.

What is a policy issue you are passionate about and why?

Healthcare is one issue of concern for me. I do believe that everyone should have access to healthcare. However, how we get there should be a bipartisan effort with input from Wall Street and constituencies.

How do you think we can unite our country and fix our politics?

By allowing a pure voice of reason, hope, and concern for ALL Americans to be heard above the rhetoric. That's how we will Make America Great Again!

Anything else you'd like to add?

Perry Waag and I are working to start a Centrist chapter in Jacksonville, Florida! If you're in the area and interested in joining a Centrist movement...let us know!
