Why is the Centrist Project an “Unparty” vs. a Third Party?

The Centrist Project aims to break through political dysfunction in government by strategically electing independent candidates to office –– not as a traditional third party, but as America’s first Unparty.

Unlike a third party, the Centrist Project is not legally organized as a party committee, does not ask supporters to change their party affiliation, will not seek our own ballot access, and has no detailed policy platform we impose on our candidates.

Our goal is to transcend the two major parties by electing a handful of Centrist, independent candidates –– not necessarily replace either party with one of our own.
