On December''s Members-only call, we'll be discussing the recently formed independent fulcrum in Maine. We'll hear from Maines State Representatives Martin Grohman and Rep. Norm Higgins who each recently disaffiliated from their party to become political independents. Grohman and Higgins will share why they've joined 4 other independents to deny both parties a majority and how they're using their leverage to forge common ground.

Rep. Higgins brings a wealth of experience as an educator to the Maine Legislature and has been appointed to serve on the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee in the 128th Legislature after spending his first two years on the Energy, Utility and Technology Committee.
He worked for many years at Piscataquis Community High School as a teacher and principal. He also serves as superintendent of schools for SAD #4. Rep. Higgins also served more than a decade in the Maine Army National Guard.
Rep. Grohman, a former Democrat, is an avid hunter and conservationist passionate about entrepreneurship and job creation. He has been building a business in Maine wants to help others do the same. He wants to change Maine's unfair reputation as a bad place to do business as a means of supporting the state's continued growth and successs.
