I was born in New York, raised in Washington, DC and currently live in Northern Virginia. I am currently working as a consultant and freelancer.
As a Centrist, I listen to and understand both sides of positions dealing with policy then work towards common sense solutions. I decided to get involved because I am impressed with the efforts the Centrist Project has done to educate people about electing Independents to office.
I am passionate about electoral reform. I believe that the voting process needs to be inclusive regardless of political affiliation and socioeconomic status status in our society.
Our country can unite by being a truly inclusive society that respect the opinions and beliefs of our fellow citizens. We can fix our politics by holding our elected officials accountable for their actions in their roles. Our country also needs to provide more options for candidates to run for public office. This will voters engaged in the political process because they will have a voice that represents them.
I am glad to see that more Black/African Americans are becoming Independents. We need alternatives in the political process.
