I am currently semi-retired from 30 years of corporate management contributions. Searching for my life passions for the 'second-half'. Grew up in Pennsylvania as Philly and PSU sports fan. BS and MS technical degrees from Lehigh University. Enjoying each day with Wendy, the love of my life. Three amazing and unique kids of 20, 17, and 14. New residents of Michigan. Love soccer, cycling, and learning new insights especially via facts and data.
Moderate conservative my entire life. So I have always been 'centrist'.
I have always enjoyed solving problems and improving situations. It means valuing all input and positions that are based on supporting fact. It means finding good ideas, finding solutions that are working in smaller areas and leveraging them for the greater good.
The first time I read the overview of the Centrist Project, I was 100% aligned to my core, with the stated Mission and Principles. I decided to commit my time to progress the concept for the better of out country.
Most passionate about Balancing budgets and addressing the corrupting influence of unlimited campaign contributions in government.
I believe having the requirement of an annual balanced budget is critical to the future of reduced political polarization and government effectiveness. It will force citizens to realize that we only have finite resources. We have to make tough decisions about how to use those valuable, limited funds. Or agree to increase taxes/funds to cover more critical areas.
Regarding the money corruption of government, I could never say it better then Lawrence Lessig in maybe the best TEDtalk I have ever watched. "There is no sensible reform possible on any topic, until we address the corruption of our system".
Looking forward to working with other like-minded Michiganders to have a positive impact on disfunction in our state, and/or impact where possible for other mission critical areas of the country for this movement.
