Son of immigrants who lived the American Dream. Born in NYC. Raised in Wisconsin. Packers shareholder. Government major in college. Medical school. Surgeon living in Seattle.
Our political system is broken. The gap between competing, partisan ideologies is widening, and a vacuum has been created. I still have faith that the majority of Americans feel uncomfortable siding with the extremes and that a middle ground where pragmatism, rational thought, fact-based decision making, focus on the common good, and honesty can gain traction.
I believe in a foreign policy which engages with and helps the world around us. A safer neighborhood offers a more stable, predictable environment in this country. Isolationism is a foolish, short-sighted worldview driven by nationalism, but is, ultimately, detrimental to the nation.
We need a strong, credible third party which tilts the balance of power back to the middle..a party which the idealogues at the extremes have to respect and be wary of as they set their agendas. I'm glad I stumbled across the Centrist Project. I feel like a political nomad who has found a home.
