The Centrist Project seeks a full-time Statewide Field Director to help launch an innovative political effort that aims to bridge the growing partisan divide in politics. The Field Director will bolster the organization’s reach and resources by building and organizing a dynamic field program and fostering relationships with grassroots organizations and partners.
The ideal candidate is someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced and open-ended startup environment, capable of strategic planning and detailed execution across various functions, and committed to working at maximum capacity to help us achieve our ambitious goals. This position requires a deep commitment to hard work, travel and long and some irregular hours.
The Field Director will be based in Denver, Colorado and reports directly to the Colorado Political Director. This is a full-time role with 50% in-state travel so access to reliable transportation is required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
The position has a wide range of responsibilities, serving as a strategic asset to the organization’s Political department and helping build, mobilize, and implement people-powered campaigns to achieve victory. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Assisting Political Director with all aspects of field management and executing campaigns that exceed field goals for candidates. including updating and maintaining donor database operations, donor research, preparing call sheets, and staffing call time
Recruit, train, manage volunteers and field staff
In conjunction with the Political Director, offer strategic guidance to candidates in regards to the field program
Manage the day-to-day field operations
Provide analysis of performance and implement plans to maximize results
Foster and strengthen relationships with outside organizations and partners committed to breaking partisan gridlock
Applicants must be highly organized and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced campaign environment
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
A true self-starting team player
Ability to manage a lot of projects simultaneously and cheerfully
Previous field experience required
Previous experience working in Colorado and an understanding of the lay of the land throughout the state
Experience working with diverse communities. Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus, but not required
